- Software stops working correctly

- Software issues and preventive measures
Software stops working correctly
If you have a program installed that is not working as it should be, either because of a faulty install, or other reasons (missing system files etc), then fixing it is not a huge problem. First, make sure you back up every piece of information that you desire to keep. Then, go to ‘Control Panel’, choose ‘Add or uninstall programs’, find the faulty one and click it. Here there are two situations. First, you get prompted an uninstall window that you can follow and thus erase the software from the PC and reinstall it afterwards. Second, you see a screen that can prompt you to choose from ‘Uninstall or repair’. When you have this you can either delete the program, or repair it, thus reversing the process back to its default settings.
Operating System has to work harder
Sometimes, because of too much data information, messy system changes or because of viruses and other bad software, Windows might need reinstallation. If you wish to avoid a full reinstallation you can do a System Restore. This can be done from the ‘Accessories’ clicking ‘Start’ windows sign, and by pressing ‘All programs’ where you find ‘System Restore’. Once you got there, just follow the instructions you may be given, reboot your computer and the whole operating system can back up to an earlier state, thus canceling the changes made. However, if viruses are the case, it is best to reinstall the whole operating system to erase any trace of them.
To make sure that software work properly, you need to follow some simple rules. First, follow each install through carefully and leave it finish by itself (do not reboot during installations). Second, make sure you uninstall programs only from the ‘Add and Remove Programs. Third, use antivirus and also run system checkups once in awhile; to make sure everything is nice and tidy.
