Restoring Windows® XP
The restoring of the Windows XP to the previous state is done in order to fix the system of any major errors. If the Windows operating system is affected with major faults, you can access the operating system through the safe mode and use the restoration to set it back to a previous state where there were no issues on its working. The restoration can be done through the start menu; you can access the System Restore in the System Tools. Here open the tool and set the point at which you need to set the operating system to. Once this is selected continue the wizard and let the restoration take place. Once this is complete the system will restart setting it to its previous state.
Last known good configuration
If the Windows operating system fails to load, you can first fix the system by rebooting the system and pressing the F8 key. Once this is done the system will display a set of option of which you can choose the last known good configuration. Once this is done the Windows XP operating system will load and the System Restore can be performed to the date that is desired.
The restore points on the system are generated automatically by the Windows XP operating system periodically. This can be changed such that you can choose the restore point that you will like the system to roll back to. This can be done when major updates are done on the operating system, when new hardware is installed and drivers are updated. Restoring the Windows XP to a previous point does not set the Windows operating system back to its factory settings. It will not remove the files and clean reinstall the operating system back to its factory settings. This can only be done with the recovery media that is provided with the Fujitsu Laptop.
