Install Windows® XP® in Fujitsu® LifeBook® P1630 Notebook
What are the guidelines to install Windows XP in Fujitsu LifeBook P1630 Notebook?
The Fujitsu LifeBook P1630 is a notebook with an 8.9” touch screen display. The system comes with a mobile display monitor that could be turned according to your needs. The notebook is built on a powerful configuration; it runs on the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 1 Gigabyte of DDR2 RAM and a 120 Gigabyte hard disk. The parts are integrated on the Intel GS45 chipset. The system comes with an integrated Bluetooth adapter for short distance communication as well as LAN and wireless capabilities. The system is delivered with an in built microphone and a fingerprint sensor for security. The system comes preloaded with the latest Windows operating system but this can be downgraded to the operating system that is compatible with the hardware on the system and is preferred by the user.
The guidelines to install the Windows XP operating system on the Fujitsu LifeBook P1630 are provided below:
- Format the hard disk
- Check the hardware compatibility of the system
- Partition the hard disk
Format the hard disk
If there is an existing operating system or data that is present on the hard disk, and this needs to be removed before installing the new Windows XP operating system, then format the hard disk before installing the new operating system. The hard disk can be formatted by pressing the function key during log on and entering the system through the DOS mode. Installing Windows XP on a clean hard disk would prevent any issues from coming up. Format the hard disk with the FAT or NTFS file format as desired before installing the operating system.
Check the hardware compatibility of the system
Check the hardware of the system before installing the Windows XP operating system. The hardware configuration decides the performance of the system; install the operating system only after the hardware requirements are satisfied. If the hardware fails to meet the standard then it would result in a degraded performance that is delivered by the system. The Windows XP operating system requires lower levels of hardware as compared to the succeeding Windows operating systems.
In case you like to have multiple operating systems running on your Fujitsu LifeBook P1630, then make sure that the hard disk is partitioned. This way, Windows XP can be installed on one partition of the hard disk while the operating system that had been earlier installed on the hard disk remains on another partition. This will help resolve many issues that can come up with the booting up of the system. Installation of the Windows XP cannot be done on a partition that is compressed.
