- Recovering factory settings
- Detach all peripheral devices
- Back up all important files
Recovering factory settings
For restoring the system to factory settings, first of all shut down your Fujitsu AMILO Pi 3660. Place the recovery CD in the CD drive. If it fails to boot from the CD drive, reboot and enter the set-up screen. If your recovery files are written on a partition, from there you might be able to select 'System recovery'. Here there might be an option to select 'Destructive' or 'Non-destructive system recovery'. Click your choice and your system would be recovered to the factory settings. If the recovery program requests any additional recovery CDs, you can insert the CD.
Detach all peripheral devices
Before restoring a system to factory settings, detach peripheral devices such as removable media drives and USB drives and printer. Additional hard drives are also needed to be removed by disconnecting the cable from the back. But monitor, mouse and keyboard can remain attached to the computer. There is a chance of altering the settings of these devices, so in order to prevent that, detach the devices.
You need to get backup of all crucial user files before doing the system recovery process. Save these files to an external storage device or to another hard drive. When your Fujitsu AMILO Pi 3660 is restored to factory setting, all the current data, documents, files etc might get deleted. So it is very important to keep a backup copy of these files and documents for further reference.
